Common questions
- How do I rate a plate?
- Open PlateRate, tap the camera button, and snap a photo (or pick one from your library). PlateRate reads the plate number automatically — then drop a star rating.
- The app didn't read my plate correctly. What do I do?
- Try a clearer photo, straight-on if possible. If it's still not working, email us the photo (with the plate visible) at connor@lombardlabs.io so we can improve OCR.
- Can I get a plate removed?
- Yes. Email connor@lombardlabs.io with the plate number and we'll take it down within 24 hours, no questions asked.
- Do I need an account?
- No. PlateRate has no accounts or logins in V1.0. All your data stays on your device.
- Which devices are supported?
- iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Optimized for 6.1", 6.5", and 6.7" displays. Android is on the roadmap.
- Where can I read the privacy policy?
- See our privacy policy. Short version: no servers, no tracking, no accounts.
Reporting a bug
When emailing about a bug, please include:
- Your device model and iOS version
- The PlateRate version (Settings → About)
- Steps to reproduce the problem
- A screenshot or screen recording, if you can grab one
