Common questions

How do I rate a plate?
Open PlateRate, tap the camera button, and snap a photo (or pick one from your library). PlateRate reads the plate number automatically — then drop a star rating.
The app didn't read my plate correctly. What do I do?
Try a clearer photo, straight-on if possible. If it's still not working, email us the photo (with the plate visible) at connor@lombardlabs.io so we can improve OCR.
Can I get a plate removed?
Yes. Email connor@lombardlabs.io with the plate number and we'll take it down within 24 hours, no questions asked.
Do I need an account?
No. PlateRate has no accounts or logins in V1.0. All your data stays on your device.
Which devices are supported?
iPhone running iOS 17 or later. Optimized for 6.1", 6.5", and 6.7" displays. Android is on the roadmap.
Where can I read the privacy policy?
See our privacy policy. Short version: no servers, no tracking, no accounts.

Reporting a bug

When emailing about a bug, please include:

  • Your device model and iOS version
  • The PlateRate version (Settings → About)
  • Steps to reproduce the problem
  • A screenshot or screen recording, if you can grab one
